Clarence Tomnitz

I was stationed at George AFB,  71-73, as a crew chief on the F4. I lived in the barracks and always thought the water tasted funny, however as a country boy; I blamed it on city water. As I am getting older, my health has for sure started to decline. I have tumors all over my body. I shake so bad that I am ashamed to eat in public. I have pretty much intense headaches all the time and suffer from high blood pressure. During the last 12 months, I was diagnosed with cancer in my bladder, throat, tongue, and jaw. I forgot to mention that my muscles hurt so bad that getting up and down at times becomes extremely painful and difficult. I hope the information posted helps someone with filing a claim. I currently have a claim filed with the VA for Agent Orange exposure due to my time at Ubon and also for the contamination at George and will keep you posted on my progress (which I am quite sure they will deny on my first try; however, I am not a quitter and they will get tired of hearing from me before I get tired of filing appeals) Best of Luck to you all.

I am not a doctor, Veterans Service Officer (VSO), or attorney; therefore, I cannot provide medical or legal advice.

If you, a friend, or a loved one have been injured or have passed away due to exposure to contamination at a DOD Superfund Site, please follow the steps outlined on the "Get Help" page.

  1. I can’t believe all the stories that I am reading. This is all so wrong. It wasn’t just George AFB and Camp Legume. I Have found that every base we lived on including overseas in France, Germany and the Philippines were all contaminated! Keep up on them. This is the beginning of my journey into this mess. But as you are I am not a quitter either. I notice this post id is from last year. any news on your health? All those cancers are enough right there to get your compensations and treatment. We can’t let the military and government get away with this. I will be watching this site and others to learn as much as I can from my fellow military patriots. I am filing every thing I can and will not stop. I was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma at 26 years old along with four of my siblings different cancers at 17 years old and later. Seven of us kids and we all have had weird cancer and illnesses at very young ages. Many doctors have said they thought our family was exposed to something. I was President of the American Cancer Society for 5 years in Alaska and I dealt with many patients. What I have noticed is that when I get stage 4 melanoma at 26 in 1984 cancer was not like it is now. It was rare for someone my age to get cancer especially melanoma. It was only 1% of the world that got melanoma then. Not much known about it. Bit now in the last 20 years or so I can’t believe how much cancer is here in the states. Everyone has been touched by it or someone in family or friends. I always thought it was our food and computers etc causing it, but now I am positive its because of all of the contaminated bases. 90% of this country has had fathers etc in WW2 or Vietnam or lived on bases. They have poisoned our entire country. How can we stand up to the ugly country’s now that want war? We have been depleted and sickened over here.
It a shame and a crime. And very SCARY. You and your family are in my prayers. Good Luck and don’t give up. Email me anytime and fill me in.
