Open-air nuclear test Fission Product Isotopes on Aircraft Surfaces

Identified Fission Product Isotopes on Filter Papers and Aircraft Surfaces The specific isotopes recoverable from tip-tank filter papers and aircraft skin were a direct function of elapsed time since detonation, shot yield, device type (fission vs. thermonuclear), and altitude of cloud penetration. Based on LASL/UCRL radiochemical program documentation cited in SWEH-2-0034 and the DNA nuclear test personnel review series, the principal isotopic species [Read More…]

Possible Laws Violated by Non-Disclosure of Contamination in Quitclaim Deeds

The U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) transferred property at the former George Air Force Base (AFB), a closed Superfund site, through quitclaim deeds for Parcel B, which includes a “HOT wash rack” or radiological decontamination center. Amazon and Goodyear have since developed warehouses on this site. The alleged failure to disclose known or potential contamination, including degreasers such as trichloroethylene [Read More…]

Nuclear Weapons at George AFB

George AFB was one of 35 bases that had Fighter Interceptor Squadrons with air-to-air nuclear weapons for stopping enemy bomber attacks. Because legacy nuclear weapons required regular onsite maintenance, a considerable amount of radioactive contamination/waste would be generated during the polonium-beryllium (Po-Be) initiators’ replacement operation. The Air Force has repeatedly denied that there were any nuclear weapons at George AFB. Additionally, the Air Force [Read More…]

Veterans And Their Families Are Being Denied Their Constitutional Right To Due Process

Like millions of veterans, I agreed to temporarily set aside my constitutional rights and protections during my enlistment or commission in the military and fall under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ). Our constitutional rights and protections were supposed to be restored upon discharge. They were not. Is the VA defrauding veterans who were exposed to radioactive material (RAM)?

Is the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) defrauding veterans exposed to radioactive material (RAM) by denying medical care and compensation for their service-connected (SC) injuries? The answer is yes. Official VA sources and regulations list 21 presumptive cancers (often described as 21 in VA brochures and fact sheets, though some group urinary tract or lung types together, leading to slight variations, such [Read More…]

Department of Defense, Base Housing, and Organochlorine Pesticides

Everyone makes mistakes; the real crime is the attempt to cover them up. Did the Department of Defense (DoD) conceal a critical defect in its residential structures built before 1980 (barracks, dorms, and housing), potentially exposing millions to organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) that may have endangered the health of military personnel, their families, and nearby residents? Yes. Did they then fail to inform them [Read More…]

Federal Agencies Can And Do Lie

FOIA 5 USC 552(c) exempts information from disclosure.  For some national security (nuclear weapons – 91b radioactive material) & law enforcement content, the agency can legally lie to you about its nonexistence, 5 USC 552(c) – on top of Glomar (“can’t confirm or deny”) responses. To avoid both of these scenarios, exclusions authorize the agency to “treat the records as not subject to [Read More…]

2024-03-27 SecDef Austin – DECLASSIFICATION BY DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE OF CERTAIN INCIDENTS OF EXPOSURE

The Department of Defense (DoD) and the Air Force were aware of the contamination at the former George Air Force Base, CA, for decades before the base was closed on December 15, 1992. The DoD and Air Force failed to remediate the contamination, prevent exposure, or notify the Air Force personnel of their possible exposure to hazardous, toxic, and/or radioactive materials that were improperly stored, disposed of, or released. These acts rise to the level of intentional exposure, triggering the declassification review provision outlined in the DECLASSIFICATION BY DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE OF CERTAIN INCIDENTS OF EXPOSURE OF MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES TO TOXIC SUBSTANCES Pub. L. 115–91, div. A, title VII, §737, Dec. 12, 2017, 131 Stat. 1445.
