My name is Scott Fanus.  I was stationed at George AFB and lived in the base family housing with my wife and children from 1986 to December 1992 when George AFB closed.  I was, assigned to the 831 Security Police Squadron and my Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) was 81150 and worked in the Security Police, Armory, LE Desk, Flight Line shop/building/areas.

Health issues that we had at and after being at George AFB:  fibroid cysts, skin conditions, rashes, nerve damage, joint pain, muscle weakness, bursitis, IBS, kidney stones, TB, neuropathy, rheumatoid arthritis, severe tinnitus (Ringing in Ears), endometriosis, hysterectomy,

Did your housing unit have an evaporative cooler (swamp cooler)? YES

Describe the drinking water quality.  BROWNISH TINGE, STINKY, DID NOT TASTE GOOD.

Were you able to get your COMPLETE military file, including medical records from the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC)?  NO

Did the DOD, Air Force, or the Dept. of Veterans Affairs notify you of your possible toxic exposure at George AFB?  NO
